The goal of summative assessment is to evaluate student learning at the end of an instructional unit by comparing it against some standard or benchmark. Summative Tests may be seen as assessment of learning, which occurs at the end of a particular unit.

Schools in remote areas to get government priority Education Secretary Leonor Briones vowed to prioritize the development of the so-called “last mile” schools, or those that fail to meet the basic criteria set for learning institutions in the Philippines. She directed various offices in the agency to identify which schools fall under this category to enable the DepEd to implement programs that would address their needs. Based on the memorandum, “last mile” schools are those that have less than four classrooms, with makeshift or non-standard rooms, without electricity, have not been allocated funds for repairs or construction for the last four years and have travel distance of more than one hour from the town center. They also include those that have multigrade classes or rooms, with less than five teachers, have a student population of less than 100 and with more than 75 percent of learners coming from indigenous peoples’ groups.

Updates on DepEd National Uniforms for Teaching and Non-Teaching for SY 2019-2020 As of this writing the Department of Education has not released yet any announcement or Deped Order regarding the new design of DepEd National Uniforms for Teaching and Non-Teaching for SY 2019-2020. According to source the Deped Central Office did not conduct yet a meeting for the National Uniform Committee to discuss the new uniform design (if any) for SY 2019-2020. LOOK:  DepEd National Uniform Designs for Teaching and Non-Teaching for SY 2019-2020 Recently, a design circulated in the social media about the design of a new Deped uniform for SY 2019-2020. Deped is clarifying that this is not true, and has no basis. No new uniform designs has been released yet by Deped.
